This beautiful full-colour book, written especially for children in Northern Ireland, at last provides an insight into the geography of their 'home ground'.

Each section is highly illustrated with diagrams, charts and local photographs and includes activities and question material to reinforce the information. Includes a full-page Ordnance Survey extract which is used throughout the book.
For the 10 to 14 age group who wish to find out more about the geography of Northern Ireland. This aspect of the National Curriculum for Key Stage Three is covered.
Derek Polley is Head of Geography in Nendrum College, Comber. He graduated with a BA from Queen's University Belfast in 1969 and added a Diploma in Education 1970. He taught for two years in Sierra Leone. He has also taught in Ballynahinch High, Movilla High and Knockbreda High before being appointed to Comber High School (now Nendrum College) in 1991. This has given him wide experience of teaching Geography to the Junior School and also at CSE, 'O' level, GCSE and 'A' level. He is the author of Wider Ground (Colourpoint, 2005) and Higher Ground, A Geography of Northern Ireland for GCSE(Colourpoint, 2001).
