The Ulster Transport Authority in colour

Category: Transport

The Ulster Transport Authority controlled public transport in Northern Ireland from 1948 to 1967 and was the forerunner of Translink. This book is a full colour album on the UTA covering the steam and diesel trains operated by the Authority, as well as its well known green buses.

The book includes many station and bus station views and close ups of long forgotten features of our transport system - somersault signals, tablet snatchers, mixed gauge at Larne harbour and crowds of holiday makers waiting for their trains and buses. The pictures include steam on the Bangor line, the NCC Derry Central, early diesels, NCC engines on the GNR and much much more.
