The Author

Richard Newman is a native of the Isle of Wight and a well known bus enthusiast. He has had a long career in public transport, starting in the 1960s, serving in management positions with several bus and train companies, including Southern Vectis itself after 1984. He is also a preservationist and owns a Southern Vectis Bristol Lowdekka. He was the author of Southern Vectis: The First 60 Years published in 1989.
