Good Grief (2nd Ed)

Category: Bereavement

Colourpoint's latest edition of an ever-popular book. Good Grief was first published in 1990 by Fount (an imprint of HarperCollinsReligious) and it has remained a steady seller for the past nine years. Colourpoint's first edition was in 1999 (1 898392 51X) with this second edition following in 2003.

The book is written in concise, readable chapters, and deals with the trauma of bereavement and the subsequent stages of grief. Writing from a Christian viewpoint, the author sympathetically explores the disbelief and anger of the bereaved and, drawing on a vast well of experience, shows how traumatic events can be survived and, sometimes unexpectedly, enrich the lives of those left behind. The short chapters and easy manner of writing are ideal for those not yet ready for more concentrated thought.

The Colourpoint edition of this valuable book now includes a chapter on personal and communal trauma and a list of support groups that those who are grieving or who deal with people who have been bereaved will find useful.

READERSHIP:
This book is greatly appreciated by those who have been bereaved.

The first edition was often recommended to those looking for something which would bring comfort to a friend or relative.

Good Grief is recommended reading for nurses and those in the caring professions.
