The Authors

Arthur Byrne, MSc, BSSc (Hons), PGCE, PGC in Marketing, is Head of Geography at St Louis Grammar, Ballymena. He graduated from Queen’s University Belfast in 1975 and completed his Postgrad in Education at Warwick University. He taught for two years at Cardinal Wiseman Comprehensive in Coventry, before his appointment to St Louis Grammar. He was appointed Head of Geography in 1982, and has wide experience in teaching and assessing geography at A Level.

Martin Thom BA (QUB 1991), PGCE (Stranmillis College 1982), taught geography at Secondary level in a number of schools in Bangor before moving to Sullivan Upper School, Holywood, in 1989. He later became head of department when Jim Robinson retired. His interests include reading, travel and people.
