One, Two, Three H.E.! Book 3

Category: KS3 HE

Continuing this valuable series from Colourpoint, the third book covers the Programme of Study for Year 10. This has proved to be an enormously popular and useful series, rapidly becoming a standard textbook for this Key Stage.

The layout of the contents is similar to that of Book 1 and Book 2, but the level of understanding required is raised again to allow for progression. Familiar themes are studied at greater depth, including the needs of the growing family, job and house hunting and issues concerning money management.

The popular exercises for the key skills of Literacy, Numeracy and ICT are highlighted throughout, as in Books 1 and 2. There are integrated questions, exercises and End of Unit Assessments. At the end of the book, there is a comprehensive recipe section.

The book is divided into the themes of:

Diet and Health
nutrients
nutritional needs of the family
the pregnant mother
menu and meal planning
methods of cooking
food and technology

Family Life -
the needs of the young child
finding a job
keeping healthy during pregnancy
the impact of a new baby
as we get older
choice of home
help for the family

Choice and Management of Resources -
methods of payment
consumer awareness
looking after the environment
new ways of shopping
technology
