The Colourpoint Cup was won in both 2004 and 2005 by Trevor Dixon, who is Translink’s Chief Driving Instructor. He is seen here (right) being presented with the cup at the 2005 event by Philip O'Neill, Translink's General Manager (Bus Services), who is responsible for bus operations and engineering and for maintenance of the bus fleet.

The winning preserved bus was Alexander (Falkirk)-bodied Leyland Leopard No 1886, new to Western Scottish in 1976 and acquired by Ulsterbus in 1988 from Clydeside, ostensibly for onward sale. It was rejected by its prospective purchaser and subsequently became No 1886 in the Ulsterbus fleet, allocated to the driving school. Presentation is only one element in the judges' decision for the award. Also taken into account are performance on the driving skills section and timings on the road run.
